The selected Public Policy and Advocacy because I wanted to learn how to advocate for impoverished and undocumented families in an effective manner. I wanted to learn about developing policies, in order to be able to, one day, write, introduce and implement policies in local, state and federal government. I hope to have an impact on children and families from a governmental aspect.
Advocates are crucial to the success of all children. Advocates help to "not" let children go unknown or not heard. Advocates keep the struggles, as well as success stories of children and families in the lime light and front and center. Advocates must be strong. Advocates must be consistent. Advocates must have endurance! Above all, advocates must have a passion for children and an overall "fight" within to want to see equality among all children.
I want to learn how to develop and write policies effectively. I want to learn about the various protocols and processes of law and how this connects to policy.
This is my journey as I achieve my Masters degree in Early Childhood Education: Public Policy/Advocacy. The road of knowledge has been traveled by many. It consists of research, studies, networking, trial and error, research, reading, constructive criticism, did I say research? and repeating the cycle. If we choose, we can travel this road forever and experience numerous, amazing possibilities and opportunities.
A Thought To Ponder:
" A NATION'S GREATNESS IS MEASURED BY HOW IT TREATS ITS WEAKEST MEMBERS"
